This safari starts and ends at Maun. Your base camp for the 3 nights is Xakanaxa Tented Camp (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka). Its prime location on the banks of the Khwai River in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve ensures that it is one of the few safari camps which can provide guests with an authentic year round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Maun Airport, fly in light charter aircraft to Xakanaxa Tented Camp. The camp is set in the heart of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, which is rated as being one of the finest game-viewing areas in Africa, incorporating most of the Delta water and a vast selection of exotic wildlife. Daily camp activities follow a rhythmic pattern in harmony with that of the nature that surrounds us.

Day 2 & 3

Spend the next two full days discovering the wondrous Jewel of the Okavango on guided 4x4 game drives, boat trips and traditional mokoro canoe safaris on the sinuous channels of the Delta led by experienced safari guides. Game in the area includes just about everything imaginable and includes Tsessebe, Lechwe, Wildebeest, Impala, Waterbuck, Elephant, Sable and Giraffe.

Day 4

After another sumptous breadfast enjoy one last morning game drive before taking your light Aircraft Charter flight from Xakanaxa Camp back to Maun Airport.
