August 2008: Madagascar tour
"We have had another great trip! I'm amazed at the perfect organization in very remote areas. We were always greeted by friendly people and the logistics were flawless. Accommodations were very nice. Nothing like in South Africa and Zambia, but that is just the nature of Madagascar. In any case, everything was comfortable and satisfactory. Thanks again for helping us with another fabulous vacation!!" - Lindsay Rosenveld, Deloitte & Touche Italy
TAILOR MADE TOURS & SAFARIS

There are a variety of travel options to choose from in Namibia: a self-drive tour, a private guided tour in a small group or a fly-in safari to the countries more remote regions- also a great combination with either your self drive or guided tour. Namibia's good road infrastructure and excellent signage lends itself well to a self drive tour and there is very little traffic in this sparsely populated country. However, keep in mind that driving is on the left side and also that Namibia is a large country and travelling distances are great. Taking a privately guided tour is an excellent alternative, which we can design for you according to your own interests and budget. Namibia is a well recommended destination for families as all of the national parks and many private lodges have family style accommodation offering good value for money and a wide variety of adventure activities from hot air ballooning to quad bike riding in the desert. Be it luxury, adventure, cultural exposure or spiritual healing you are seeking- we can tailor make your perfect tour or safari into Namibia.

WHEN TO GO
Namibia is an all year round destination. The summer months are from October-April and temperatures generally range from 20-34 degrees celsius during the day with temperatures above 40 often recorded in the extreme north and south of the country. The coast influenced by the cold Benguela current, boasts a relatively stable temperature range from 15-25 degrees celsius with heavy fog at night. Winter is from May-September with temperatures generally ranging from 18-25 degrees celsius during the day and below freezing temperatures and ground frost common at night. The peak travelling season in Namibia is from July- October. We advise planning your trip well in advance over these months as accommodation availability is at a premium. Special interest groups should take note of the following travel tips: Best birding safaris are during the summer months from October-March because of the greater variety of species to be found. Best botanical months are from December to May when the vegetation turns green, and also when most plants are in flower. We have special interest natural history guides available for our special interest groups.
