Botswana is blessed with its pristine wilderness areas and its wildlife heritage is one of the richest in the world- nearly 40% of Botswana is a protected wildlife area.

A variety of exclusive private lodges and luxury tented camps or mobile tented camps are situated in prime locations in Botswana's game reserves and in privately owned wilderness concession regions, from where you can experience Africa's wildlife on your doorstep with all the necessary comforts.

The two main ways of getting around in Botswana are by light safari aircraft or on a mobile safari. Light safari aircraft transfers are needed to access most of Botswana's luxury camps and lodges especially in the Okavango. Mobile safaris offer a unique way of discovering the Okavango and desert and are usually enjoyed in a group of 2-8 people with a safari guide. They are also ideal as a private safari for families and small groups of friends.

We offer a tailor made safari service which includes: luxury winged safaris, where guests fly from one lodge to the next- generally these safaris are unaccompanied as each lodge has its own team of local English speaking guides; luxury winged safaris accompanied by your own French speaking guide; Combined wing and 4x4 mobile safaris accompanied by an English or French speaking guide with accommodation ranging from traditional safari camps to comfortable dome tents. Many additional special features may be added to your Botswana safari program such as guided walking trails and mokoro ( traditional dug out canoes ) trails or elephant encounters and horseback safaris. In camps game viewing is done on land in a 4x4 vehicle or on foot with a tracker and guide. In the Okavango Delta traditional "mokoros" ( traditional dug out canoes ) and power boats are used. WHEN TO GO
The seasons in Botswana are indistinct. Rains may begin in October/ November; although the official wet season is from December to March when the animals spread out over the plains. Within this period there may also be long dry spells. This period is called the green season in Botswana and during this time many lodges offer special discounts and packages. May is generally regarded as the first month of the dry, cool winter, characterised by clear sunny days and cold nights. As winter progresses, the animals migrate north to the Chobe and Linyanti Rivers and west into the Okavango Delta as it begins to flood. Spring begins in August and temperatures rise rapidly during the hot, dry period of September, October and November until the rains again break. It is important to note that, at any time of year, it does not normally rain on more than two consecutive days.
