Kruger Park & Mpumulanga

With nearly 2 million hectares of bushveld, the Kruger National Park is largely unrivalled in Africa for its diversity of ecosystems and impressive concentration of wildlife.It is a premier local and international game park, featuring over 250,000 mammalian inhabitants falling into 147 species including all of the "Big Five"- 300 black rhino, 2,500 white rhino, 8,000 elephant, 900 leopard, 15,000 buffalo and 2,000 lion, as well as 507 bird, 336 tree, 49 fish, 34 amphibian and 114 reptile species.

The Panoramic Route, approximately 3 hours drive from Johannesburg and 2 hours from the Kruger National Park encompasses the region known as Mpumulanga and is an ideal destination en route to the Kruger or after your safari. Waterfalls, canyons and green forests are some of the regions most scenic attractions. The magnificent views of the Blyde River Canyon from God's Window are not to be missed and your stay in Mpumalanga will not be complete without exploring the historical gold mining village of Pilgrim's Rest, a modern-day "living museum".Also easily reached is the wildlife area of Hoedspruit where guests can visit the Kapama cheetah breeding project as well as the Moholoholo Raptor rehabilitation centre.

ACCOMMODATION IN THE KRUGER PARK AND MPUMULANGA
There is a wide choice of accommodation in and around the Kruger Park. Inside the park itself there are many restcamps offering comfortable and affordable chalet style accommodation. Game drives, night drives and bushwalks with a park ranger may be booked on arrival. A number of private concessions have also been granted within the park, where small private lodges offer more upmarket luxurious accommodation and high standards of service.The game reserves of the Sabi Sand, the Timbavati and the Manyeleti all share an open border with the Kruger and together with other private game reserves located nearby, offer a number of world class private safari lodges and lesser known bush camps.
