The Kalahari, which covers over 70% of Botswana has its own stark and dramatic beauty and in the summer rainy months, the landscape is transformed in to lush grasslands attracting thousands of plains game including springbok, gnu, oryx, giraffe with of course their accompanying predators such as lion and cheetah in hot pursuit. The Kalahari is also home to the last of the hunter-gatherer San (Bushmen) people, still following their traditional way of life in isolated communities.
